Your first visit to our dental centre is an important step in getting to know you and your dental needs. During this visit, we will take the time to understand your dental history, discuss any concerns, and perform a comprehensive exam. Here’s an overview of the steps involved in your first visit:

• Registration and Paperwork: Upon arrival, you’ll be asked to complete some basic forms (more on that below). This helps us gather important information about your health and dental history.
• Meet the Team: Our friendly team will greet you, introduce you to our dental centre, and guide you through the process.
• Comprehensive Exam: Your dentist will perform a thorough oral exam to check your teeth, gums, and mouth. If necessary, this may include an X-ray.
• Discussion: After your exam, your dentist will review their findings with you, discuss treatment options, and answer any questions you may have.
• Scheduling Future Appointments: If any treatments are needed, we’ll discuss them and set up future appointments at your convenience.

To ensure that your first visit goes smoothly, here are a few things to keep in mind:

• Arrive Early: Arriving 10 to 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment allows time to fill out any necessary forms.
• Bring Your Health Information: If you have any medical conditions or allergies or are on medication, please bring a list with you to help us better understand your overall health.
• Dental Insurance Information: If you have dental insurance, please bring your insurance card so we can verify coverage before your appointment.
• Payment Information: Be prepared to discuss payment options and financial policies, which will be explained during your visit.

To save time during your first visit, we encourage you to fill out our New Patient Form ahead of time. These forms help us collect important information about your dental and medical history, as well as your contact and insurance details.

Please complete the forms and bring them with you to your appointment. If you’re unable to download or print the forms, don’t worry—we’ll have paper copies available at the dental centre when you arrive.

The initial exam is a key part of your first visit. It’s designed to give our team a clear understanding of your oral health and identify any issues that need attention. Here’s what you can expect:

• Oral Exam: The dentist will perform a detailed oral exam to check for any issues such as cavities, gum disease, or abnormalities.
• X-rays: If necessary, we may take X-rays to get a better look at areas of your teeth and gums that can’t be seen during a visual exam. X-rays help us detect problems like tooth decay between teeth or bone loss.
• Dental History Review: Your dentist will ask about your past dental experiences, any pain or discomfort you’ve experienced, and your goals for treatment. This helps us create a treatment plan that’s tailored to your needs.
• Gum Health: Your gums will be checked for signs of disease or infection. Healthy gums are essential for a healthy smile.
